Dear Readers,
Even in a very quiet year, the holidays show up faster than ever. With Thanksgiving this week, I know the next time I look around we’ll be ringing in the new year.
Because I can’t resist making procrastinators moan, I’m going to announce I’ve not only finished my holiday shopping, but this weekend started the wrapping process. And got a jump start on decorating. Oh, and my Christmas cards are ready to mail out next week.
Go ahead and moan. You know you want to!
But to backtrack some….our fall continued as careful as the rest of 2021, but I did manage to grab onto a little of the normal with a trip to NYC in October. Since Griffin (who turned 3 in October!) is still too young to be vaccinated, we relied on room service and food delivery for meals and planned our outings to avoid crowds.
Kayla and I took on midtown Manhattan (and a quick Uber downtown) to outfit her in some work clothes for a new part-time gig at Pac-Sun, her college activities, as well as her larger role in our family foundation. Fun! Outfitting a long, lanky college sophomore is nothing but fun for this nana.
We divvied the days up into blocks and set out, masked and vaccinated, to some favorite stores and some new ones as well. I shared the trip on the blog, and you can read more about it here. |
